This year’s WSAVA Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee veterinary outreach clinic will be in Latin America in conjunction with our 2016 congress in Cartagena, Columbia.
Dates: Tuesday September 20th through Friday September 23rd
Location; University Positivo, Curitiba, Brazil

Curitiba is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Paraná. The city's population numbered approximately 1,879,355 people as of 2015, making it the eighth most populous city in the country, and the largest in Brazil's South Region.
The city sits on a plateau at 932 metres (3,058 ft) above sea level. It is located 105 kilometres (65 mi) west of the seaport of Paranaguá and is served by the Afonso Pena International airport.

The clinic will be held at the Universidade Positivo which currently offers 27 undergraduate programs, a doctoral program, three master's degree programs, dozens of certificate of graduate study programs and hundreds of extension courses. All this makes Universidade Positivo one of the foremost institutions of higher learning in Brazil. A new veterinary college will be opened in 2016 and the freshman class will be able to assist with our clinic.

Volunteer Veterinarians will be responsible for their flights to and from Curitiba as well as accommodations and most meals.
This will be our third outreach (  Johannesburg and Taclaban, Philippines ). These outreach experiences have been amazing and hundreds of companion animals have been sterilized and treated for parasites as well as vaccinations during the first two clinics. People who could not afford or have access to veterinary services owned all of these animals and the result is that we made definite improvements in reducing overpopulations of pets in the areas we worked in…….  Veterinarians contributing to improving animal welfare!
Now is your opportunity to get involved in an extremely worthy cause and at the same time to immerse yourself in a new and great cultural exchange.
